Jumping Up For Down Syndrome: 4-Day Festival featuring National DockDogs® competition, Lori McKenna Concert at Patriot Place to Benefit Children’s Hospital Boston, Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress, Local Non-Profit

2nd Annual Rock-N-Dock Festival

Team21 is teaming up with Bass Pro Shops, DockDogs®, local and national sponsors to bring it’s second annual Rock-N-Dock Festival to Patriot Place, Thursday through Sunday, May 30th-June 2nd.   Team21 is a Stoughton-based non-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness about the importance of early intervention programs in helping children with Down syndrome live their fullest lives.  Proceeds from the Rock-n-Dock Festival will benefit Team21, Children’s Hospital Boston Down Syndrome Programs and the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress.

The festival will feature an exciting outdoor DockDogs® competition on all four days. DockDogs® is the world’s premier canine aquatics competition, with dogs from all over the country competing in three different categories: Big Air®,  Extreme Vertical™ and Speed Retrieve™. The dog with the highest DockDogs Extreme Verticalcombination of scores in all three categories will earn the title of Iron Dog. All three current world record holding dogs will compete at the Rock-N-Dock festival. These high-flying competing dogs can jump lengths up to thirty feet and over eight feet high!

While the dogs are resting their legs on Saturday night, Showcase LIVE will be rockin’ with a benefit concert.  Stoughton resident, and five time Boston Music Awards Best Folk Artist, singer/songwriter Lori McKenna will be performing.  “I’m so happy to be a part of something so important, with so much heart,” said Lori McKenna. “I am really looking forward helping my longtime friend, Dave Skoletsky and the whole community of supporters celebrate the joy we experience in our children, our music and our dogs.”

Eve and Fletch of Team 21Team21 founder, Dave Skoletsky’s daughter, Eve, who has Down syndrome, has benefitted from early intervention programs such as speech, physical and occupational therapies. “Team21 and the Rock-n-Dock festival is our effort to make the same opportunities and benefits available to other families and children with Down syndrome. I am excited by the opportunity to combine my passions for music and DockDogs to raise awareness and funds for Down syndrome programs, and I’m truly humbled by the extended community of support for Team21 and our efforts.
