Medina, OH – DockDogs®, in association with SCHEELS®, is pleased to announce the signing of a multi-store location Tour for 2015!
DockDogs® will launch the “SCHEELS Sportsman Tour” with the inaugural event for this year starting at the Iowa City store in Coralville, IA on July 10 & 11, 2015. The additional dates and store locations include:
“The DockDogs Sportsmens’ Tour at the SCHEELS stores will bring new found excitement to Mid-West Region, states Brian Sharenow, Director of Operations for DockDogs Inc. With the addition of DockDogs to the Scheels Expos comes heightened exposure for both our organization and for the sport itself in some new markets for us as well as increased exposure in some key markets we now get a chance to return to at a different time of the year. We are excited to provide a series of competition venues tied to the Expos that both the DockDogs Teams and fans can enjoy.” Sharenow also states, “This will be the next launch pad for an alternative qualifying opportunity for the competitors who strive to secure an invitation to the coveted DockDogs World Championships.
As each Team takes to the dock, they will be vying to qualify for an invitation to the 2015 DockDogs® World Championships in each DockDogs® discipline including all the specialty divisions.
Grant Reeves, CEO for DockDogs Worldwide highlights, “In order to be considered for the SCHEELS Series you must have attended a minimum of (2) of the 2015 DockDogs SCHEELS Series events (separate event locations).”
Upon completion of the above noted requirements as of October 15th, 2015, the top ranked team within each Division of each Discipline (Big Air; Speed Retrieve; Extreme Vertical & Iron Dog) will receive an invitation to the 2015 DockDogs® World Championships. This includes the Specialty Divisions (Youth Handler; Lap Dog; Veteran Dog; Legend Dog). Rankings are based on a team’s best two qualifying scores within each discipline of all 2015 Scheels events they have attended up to October 15th, 2015 (i.e. there will be individual rankings for one top score per event for Big Air, Speed Retrieve, Extreme Vertical & Iron Dog).”
Reeves goes on to say, “We have been working in association with SCHEELS for the past few months to develop this new Series as a natural extension to the tremendous support our sport receives in the Mid-west. We are excited about this new support from SCHEELS as our sport would not be able to achieve the targeted growth we are consistently being able to realize from year to year in that region. The unique feature of this series is that it is structured in such a format that allows for both the audience and the Teams to follow the progression of DockDogs competition in this series.”
