Avalon Ranch is a K9 Grooming and Training facility located in Renfrew Ontario. New for 2012 Avalon Ranch is now the second DockDogs Sanctioned training facility in Ontario!!
We are proud to be hosting two National World qualifying DockDogs events this year. In addition we will be having Regional events and fun matches. On a weekly basis we will be having Dock Diving classes and practice sessions.

The dock diving program will add a much needed place to practice for club members and add a very exciting addition to our booming K9 facility. Our first National Sanctioned event will be held July 28-29, and the second National sanctioned event will be held September 14-16, 2012. At Avalon Ranch you can have your dog groomed in a quiet, stress free atmosphere by a certified Groomer. Large or small we groom them all.

We have all levels of Agility classes, whether you want to eventually compete or you just want to come and play.
Obedience classes are private one on one session to work individual needs.
Dryland and dog sledding/skijoring field trips and clinics happen throughout the year.

We are very excited to kick off the season with a Splash and can't wait to see you there.

My Weimaraner, Lexie, and I have been taking agility classes at Avalon Ranch for several years.  Mary's enthusiasm, knowledge and encouragement make her a genuine trainer and teacher.  Lexie is a very bold and energetic dog and Mary's keen ability to understand what motivates and drives her has allowed Mary to teach Lexie and I how to work together in a fun and effective way that is rewarding for both of us.   Mary's initiative has expanded our dog sport activities to bikejoring and skijoring and I look forward to all new adventures that Avalon Ranch has to offer.  Avalon Ranch is a fun and welcoming place to interact with your dog and great people!

2012 will be my fourth year training with Mary Spurrell at Avalon Ranch. Mary is extremely knowledgeable about all things dog. I have learned so much about dog training from Mary, more than just typical how to run an agility course. She really takes the time to watch us run our dogs and is able to tell us how to improve. Avalon Ranch is a very clean facility with a relaxed atmosphere. The excitement in my dogs simply by driving towards Avalon Ranch, speaks to the enjoyment we share training at this facility. I highly recommend Mary and Avalon Ranch to everyone. I am very excited to start dock diving this summer as well.

Congratulations Mary on becoming Ottawa Valley's DockDogs Sanctioned K9 facility!

So happy to hear that your dream has finally come true. I know how passionate you are about dog sports of all kinds. I also know from 4 yrs of agility training at Avalon Ranch, that it is most important to you to have fun with your dog. Agility class is bonding time with each of my dogs, and the family atmosphere at Avalon Ranch, makes it very special.

When we first started with Scout he was a little hesitant but with your encouragement, his confidence has grown in leaps & bounds. All your club members are now friends and love to help by cheering each other on. We all know how Scout likes to please his adoring public! Even though I started to just have fun with my dog, I have caught the agility bug! Scout might not make it past Fun Matches but I do believe Axel might trial one day, with your help of course! You never know, you might even see Axel in your pool ...

Looking forward to agility starting soon and can't wait for their next grooming appt. Watch out Mary, the sheltie hair pair are coming soon! They both love agility but when we show up for grooming, they are a little disappointed. Scout even tried to escape from the salon to the agility field in the middle of winter! They both both smell so good and feel so soft after their spa day with you.

Congrats again and can't wait for the dock diving events this summer ...

- Cindy, Scout & Axel
